My secondaries are coming in well with 4-6 nodes per vine on the longest. I have noticed that my secondaries will not put out those little stub roots just waiting to be buried. My main does this very well and tells me when it is time to bury that particular node.
Should I just bury secondary nodes anyway? I don't want issues with males not being able to get through the dirt, etc.

The males will come through. As for the no roots, maybe your soil is too dry/hot. Generally, if the plant does it on the main, but not the 2's, it does not have the energy to for some reason. Bury them up, keep them wet, and check in a week or so for roots. Good Luck, AleX Noel.

yes bury them. I usually bury up to a foot away from the end of the vine.

I have tried everything when it comes to wanting the best for my pumpkins. So far the only thing that really works is great soil prep. Try anything for a big one is what i do!
