Has any one had any luck growing seedlings that have split in half? I have had several seedlings that have split in half. Most likely due temp changes with this crazy weather we are having. I was going to cull them at first but these seedlings have recovered nicely and instead of having a circle shaped main they are like a semicircle shape. The first true leafs are starting to grow on one side of the split. Were you able to grow a pumpkin of any substantial size? At the very least I I would like to grow them for their male flowers.

I do not see it as too much of a problem. Especially if the first true leaves are beginning to show. Maybe not start off as fast but should be ok. I had one seedling only have one cotyledon leaf, it grew much larger than average. I guess it was making up for the missing half.

As long as it's an along (not accross) the vine split, it's fine, the veins go lengthwise. An accross break is O.K. too, if it's limited. My 720.6 grew on a plant with an accross break that was originally about 50% through at like 4 ft. out.
Glad to here my 720 is doing well! AleX Noel.

Ok, good. They are vertical splits not horizontal. Other than they split in half, they are missing one seedling leaf, they all seem to be doing fine now. They are getting there first true leafs ok. There is no open wound either. Like I said before rather than a circle shape they are now a semicircle shape. Yep, so far so good with the 720.6
