Hammer,
a little trick we use when they get a bit leggy is to either transplant into a bigger deeper container so that we can build soil up under the seed leaves or lacking larger containers you could wrap newspaper or heavy paper, etc, around the peat pot and fill again as mentioned above.

thanks for starting the seeds for our meet and greet.

Where is the light? Should always be an inch or 2 above the seedlings (works best with a neon bulb, no big heat from that one). Never had leggy plants since.

Yes, getting the light close to the seedling is critical. Light falls off in intensity based on the distance from the light, to the square of that distance. Or in other words, if you have the light 2 inches from the plants in one case, and four inches from the plants in another, the plants at 4 inches are getting only ONE FOURTH the light intensity that the plants get at two inches!

I've found, over a long time, that for flourescent tubes, 2 inches distance is great. If you have big heat lamps, no...

you also have a measurable difference in intensity from middle to end of fluorescent bulbs. Middle is brightest.

As an interesting thought, consider how seedlings come up when they come up naturally in your patch. The seed leaves stay very close to the ground, almost hugging the soil.......

Been watchin' some movies there, Tom? I don't know what your
problem is, maybe because I didn't want to give you my
500 Beauchemin? At any rate, respectable business people
shouldn't go throwing around bigoted and false remarks. At
least if they want people to do business with them...

Tom,

According to your email to me, I guess this is some inside
joke between you and some others. OK, fine. I'm sorry.
This indeed was my mistake to react like this. It won't
happen again.
