Hi. I realize the amount of stuff needed to do this on an AG, but a field pumpkin would be alot easier. Who wants to set up a challenge? The goal would be to find out how this really works outside of a lab. The basic rules would be:
1. The only soil to be used would be in germination.
2. Uhh, so what should 2 be? 3,4,5?
The roots just need to be misted often with a cheapo system to make it work. There could very well be some seeds up for prizes, and depending on if an entry fee happens, maybe cash.
So:
Add some rules
Would you be interested
Appropriate entry fee
Hard stem pumpkins only?
Judged by weight, right?

Hey you need to read the story about Dave Iles. He is using a cross of hydro/air and grew a very large pumpkin(600+ I think) a 90 pound marrow and a whole host of other things. Check it out. Later Scott.

MN, that's where the idea's from. They used summer squash, I may try a sugar pumpkin, or a Jack Be Little (smaller roots). Spud, I'll read that. AleX.

stop screwing around ( lol ) we need you concentrating on a 1,200 pounder from that 1068.

you can do the hydroponics thing after you master the conventional way.
we need the pounds to defend our top ten record.

besides i thought you were developing a air cannon ???????

LOL! Don't worry Dick, plenty of time for everything (not really though). In the end, I concentrate on pumpkins most of all. 15 days till the 1068 lives! Just 1200?!
The air cannon is coming, can't find any pipe. Not even e-bay. Sorry I won't be at the seed party tomorrow, NH guys offered me some good seeds to go to theirs! LOL! AleX.
