I have a red pumpkin tarp with hand holds. I wouldn't want to try it with a blue tarp.

HI Suzy, I agree the tarps with hand holds are much better. But the kids growing in the 4 h contest are not going to spend that much on one. We have lifted a 679 with a blue tarp from Wal Mart with good sucess. Good luck this year. Doug Adams Jn. 3:16

Doug,
You can put handles on a regular tarp for cheap. You can buy a grommet kit at wal-mart. use 6 inch sections of pvc pipe for the handles. Use rope to attach the handle to the tarp. a 20 x 20 or 20 x 16 tarp folder twice into 4 layers works great for meduim size fruit. remember ... use your legs not your back. I have a some pictures of a tarp made this way somewhere... not lifting ... just the tarp ... oh here they are I'll post them in my photo album. gordon
