Who is going to make some interesting crosses this year? Any body doing the 845 X 898 or others like that. How about crossing 730 Stellphlug.

i won't be MAKING the 845 X 898 but PLANTING the 1104.5 Hester which i believe is that cross or the reverse, along with the 869.5 Calai, 1180 Daletas, 582 Hester and the 842 Eaton, for starters--i gotta keep myself under control! but how?!? oh, yeah, 1370 Rose, too. DOH!

Yea, I did those. And I sent Chip Brunst the 730 plant he grew last year....it's an experience to mail a plant via USPS lemme tell ya'. That seed produces very thick walled pumpkins....average over variance is about 16%.

i deleted this reply about 5 times so far, but here it is...i am so wishy-washy! ha ha ha: "heyyyy, them's 'grow a bigger pumpkin than you' words, lol! i am not a really competitive person, maybe that is why my PB is 728.5, with the 845 Bobier no less! what you want, big and orange, but the only factor being weight? i would rather pay a hundred bucks than give up a top seed, lol! hmmm, i've never COMPETED in pumpkin-growing before....against anyone i knew at all... but, times are changin', and it would be really cool to have a 'thing' going on to keep me motivated. so, if that would work for you, then that would be in my vision of the future, if you'd like... CvsUS...the code name. ...600 bucks on basic amendments so far...DARN!!! eric g

Well, I have two 1180 Daletas seeds and thought about a sibb cross, but then I could trade one for a 670 Diagle (along with a left n..), but then the 1420 La Rue is nagging me to cross with a 1016 Daletas,,, or a 1180 cross with a 834*..... I hate this time of year, but on a happy note the patch is almost done and looks awesome!

Not a competitive person...come on Eric, I thought all of "us" had some special qualities and one of them being competitive. Since your PB is 728.5 and mine is 577.5, you have much more land at your disposal, I'd think that things are swinging in your favour. (thats right we spell it favour and you spell it favor) So, I would bet $600 bucks but will send my seed to Jake van Kooten to grow for me in his soil. How does that sound?......you in??

OK, since we both have some nice seeds for some potential great crosses, we work out a seed swap and throw in a trophy that is awarded yearly? NY vs BC.....??
