okay, i DID type-in grubex on the search engine and learned a lot about it, but i still have a small question that is pertinent to my late Sunday, massive till-down: if i am to protect my plants from Cucumber Beetle grubs (corn root maggots?) which i have seen totally ruin an otherwise healthy 811 Kuhn seedling in a "neighbor's" patch in '05, at .2% concentration of genuine Imidacloprid Grubex, how much of it per 100 square feet should i apply and till-in along with everything else in order to have excellent protection from the little ^^^^^^^^^^^^^****************)<)<)<)<)(((((((s, lol, early-on? PS- it is supposed to rain for a couple days starting tomorrow (oh, yay) thereby 'watering it in' by default...
i still have SOME Admire Flowable 2F that i can use as a drench or foliar later, but i wanna have it in the soil to BEGIN with. any quick responses appreciated, and i'm sorry that it is on the GD rather than pests board---eric g

eric,
Scott's Grubex is .2% Imidacloprid. To reach the Cucurbit rate of Imidacloprid (.3 lbs active ingredient per acre) would mean applying 150 lbs per acre. This is the same as applying 3.44 lbs/1000 sq ft or 5.5 oz per 100 square feet.
Keep in mind the following words of wisdom right from the Scott's Grubex information page:
It is a violation of federal law to use this product in a manner inconsistent with its labeling.

Eric: I'd simply use Merit, unless cost is a problem. It's application is straightforward and no conversions are needed. Proven product for pumpkins (whether it's on label or not).

thanks for the help--- as it turns out, i have not gotten to the point where i am done amending the soil yet, but i suppose i can water-in the seedlings with my Admire 2F as i go along, and i will use the advice i have seen here as well, concerning any additional application or usage of such products...once my wallet recovers from the recent onslaught of necessary soil amendments! we are kinda rainy in NY now...good thing i am still a little ahead of schedule-eg
