Maybe it was due to my poor mood caused by my grandfather's passing.....Maybe it was due to the constant battles with ants invading the house.... Maybe it was due to the C.beetles found munching on my GP/GS just one day after planting....
But I swear I heard my DDT-loving grandfather's voice when I went insane and purchased not only seven dust, not only Triazinone (sp?) granules, not only Triazinone spray, not only bug-bombs, as well as grubX!!!
Now, the ten feet around the house as well as the foundation REEK with the odor of pesticide... The Pumpkin/squash patches appear to have had a light snow... And I had a runny nose and quite a bit of sneezing last night... (I'm better now - going to get a chemical mask for next month!)
Maybe ol' grandpa was right?? I didn't have any ants in the house this morning.....

Please be careful, it is not worth your health or your families health to over due it. I am not talking down to you(we all make mistakes), just concerned.

I like the liquid ant baits, cheap, effective, and you only use a little. Also very gratifying to watch'em drink it down and carry it home:)

Welcome to my world. We are on top of the food chain for a reason. Now don't go over board & cause problems where none existed. Moderation is the key.

We are, on the top, of the food chain until death do us part. Then the biology will consume my butt the same as anyone elses.

I embrace the modern FOCUSED approch to targeting specific proteins necessary for bug metabolisms only, that therefore poses little harm to mammals. As I understand it this is why you now only need onces to an acre instead of pounds or tons of previous non selective poisons......It is more expensive because it is very selective. This also means it is safer WHEN USED AS DIRECTED.

Oh, I used it as directed.... Even purchased the Triaznone that comes in a hose-end sprayer - don't even have to measure it that way. I'm only going to use the strong stuff right around the house foundation, Preferring to use either soap or soap+ a little liquid seven in the gardens.
Haven't seen any more C. Beetles on my dusted plants.. I'll just have to re-apply after the rain passes...
Guess I've got allergies not only to pollen - but to chemicals as well! Guess it's good that I haven't used them until now..

Lay down a CHOCOLATE ring around the house. When they get stuck, pickem up and eatem!! Later Scott.
