Put my seedlings in the ground last night to kick off my second season growing AG's! I was very fortunate to have been given 6 seeds from the Arkansas state record last year and after working them over, I got 5 of them to sprout (the one that didn't was due to my clumsy fingers...oops!). After 3 weeks in jumbo coffee cans with the bottom cut out (great tip from this forum), I culled one plant and set four in the patch. I'll cull two more in the next week or so to leave me with two hopefuls for the year.
I feel like I've learned a thousand times more from this time last year. I've read all three copies of How to grow world class GP's more times than I can count and have frequented these forums every week as a lurker. I've set a goal of 300lbs for this year...wish me luck!
Thanks to all who post up the great information for this fun hobby/sport! May all your vines be fruitful and your SVB's be dead!

May you have a Giant Orange Pumpkin in your patch and may there be awe-struck neighbors and growers asking you for seeds in October!
