Subject: Seedling's stem

I started my diary and submitted a close-up picture of the stem on one of my seedlings. The stem appears to be almost split leading up to each of the cot leaves. As luck would have it, this is the plant that I was hoping would grow the big one this year.
As soon as my diary pictures are up would you mind taking a look and sharing your thoughts? I'll paste a link when the pictures are up. Thanks for the help.

Mike: I had that happen to me on a couple of 723 Bhaskaran's in 2004. Of a couple of dozen germinations that year, only those two split on me like that, so I presumed it to be a genetic flaw. When one split on me, I pitched it and started another one. When that one split down the middle like your photo, I kept it and transplanted it. You will get a true leaf growing from one side of the plant, and the other side will eventually wither away. If you choose to stick with it, you can get a viable plant despite that kind of split...
