Im putting in some more plants at edges of patch & not amended as good as main patch , so i found at feed store 50lb bags of sun dried alphalpa hay with molassas ,, Its ground up & looks good 8.50$ ea but wondered if this is somthing i should put in , I realise its not composted yet , thats not my concern for now but on the bag it says ash not more than 13% what is the ash ?? is that ok ? its in all the other bags of hey products also ???? ASH is that Good or ??

I am thinking the Ash Number you are seeing is an analysis of what is left after the feed has gone threw a burn out phase.
