The good news is that my son's elementary school's new principal want to grow Big Pumpkins like we did a few years ago.

Back in 2003 I created an oral & a printed curriculum for the 20 minute in-garden-classroom sessions I hold for the pupils. The kids are K-4th grade so the material was pretty basic.

The bad news is that the data was backed up onto a disc I cannot locate.

In the past I had shared this presentation with others & others shared theirs with me. Does anyone out there have a copy available?

Thanks in advance.

Bummer Steve, I hope you find it. If not, Tom Privita has a good program that will locate already past deleated files or even files that you briefly looked at.

If Tom has a program that can locate an entire computer or a misplaced disc then he really does have something. LOL

Actually Tom....remember the corrupt Gateway? We downloaded a Microsoft "update" that corrupted every Word doc & turned them into "Works". This document originated on an IBM that is no longer in my posession. But it was also saved to that Gateway which I kept for the CD burner.

Maybe I should boot that thing up? Can those docs be restored?

I don't know if this helps Tremor, but I found it while scanning old posts, not sure how to give you correct link but .. General Discussion Board, Subj. Please Critique- 10/28/03. It had most of what you were sending out to the school on it- instructional wise. Hope it will help.

Kathy

Steve:

If you can boot that Gateway up and the CD drive reads disks, you can try converting those Works docs to text and then Word can access them.

Thanks Kathy for finding that old post. Here is the old link:

That was a set of instruction that were pasted to each seed envelope that I distrbuted to each of the 450 pupils of the same school. Ironically, we really DID get 3 pumpkins out of those 450 seeds! One of them weighed 150 lbs & the families were all exstatic so it really was all worth while.

What I'm tring to do right now is create a simplified curriculum with picture aids for a 20 minute session with the students in the garden.

I might just start over from scratch if the old Gateway doesn't boot. We'll see.

If you cant boot the computer pull the drive and put it in another computer as a slave and do a search for the documents your looking for. Just one more possibility.

I have tried to recover files this way with a legit recovery program, depends upon the operating system, XP?,98? Millienum?, 95, NT4, Win2000? NTFS? Its possible but highly unlikely if the paging file was set to dynamic which is usually a Microsoft default on setup. A certified certifiable MCSA. Can one get punkin certified?... perhaps Trevor knows this too? PS, What does one have to do to get GPC certified for weigh off....Ill post this one into a few category. Thanks

That old Gateway was on Windows '95. Everything here now is XP.

I believe the old computer I gave my daughter is Windows '95... We're supposed to get a new keyboard and mouse - & set it up in her room to play games on soon..... If you need a Windows '95 to open it - I think I have one!
