I saw our first cucumber beetle today. Our plants are about 25 days old and most have five or six leaves. Is it too soon to spray Neem oil to kill the beetles? We were able to keep the beetles under control last year with this method but the plants were much older when we began spraying.

Good question? I was told yes to Neem but not in the Morning and not on a Sunny Day. I am still waiting for an answer too.

Sorry to change the subject a little, but I'm wondering if there are geographical regions in the U.S. where cucumber beetles aren't a problem. I've never noticed a problem with them. I don't know if I've ever seen one im the garden. I've grown squash and carving pumpkins for many years here. I'm in central MN.

If there is a Geographical issue, beetle's mostly live on the Central California Coast.

They live here that's for sure. I would guesstimate I've killed 1000+ in a single wave before. Usually late May here but I bet early June this year.
