I have to make a choice soon. Plant # 1 69 inches long secondaries starting to grow vine thickness is less than an inch about 3/4
Plant # 2 Very thick vine about 1.25 thick vine is just starting to lay down. about 2 feet so far.
Need to terminate one.
Both plants are from the same kin, Both started on same day, transplanted same day and germinated same day.
Which one goes? Both plants are healthy and green.

it's a crap shoot! Some plants start faster than others, go with your gut instincts since you have to grow it:)

I'd go with plant #1 ... just my opinion.

I think that the thicker-vined one would be tempting. I don't know if a thicker vine is a plus or not? You would likely get an earlier pollination on plant one, but both are doing great for this point in the season. When is your weighoff? When is first frost usually expected?

Last year i had a freak frost on June 20 then another blast in July, generally we dont get frost until beggining of Sept, Weigh off is in Oct.
I will wait a couple of more days then chop.

Hi Jamie. I would go with plant 1 (6 feet long)because of your climate and because if plant 2 (2 feet long)has a unusually large stem and is the same age it "might" be sign that it is going to double or flat vine. Ron Rahe

Thanks Ron I guess you know your seed better than anyone, Plant one stays and Plant 2 Goes,
The 67 Rahes are starting to give her, I will be getting rid of one of those also, And plant 2 has a real thick spot about 5 inches from the start of the trunk I thought flatvine also ,it is starting to grow hard and the vine is still very thick all the way.Plant one is still averaging 7.5 inches per day in 6 hours during the day it grew 2 inches.
