Subject: to bury, or not to bury

Hi, another one question, is correct to bury the vine? I know some growers,bury all the vine, I want to try this technique in this season, but I'm a bit warried about the vine can to rotten without that I can to see Any advice will be very highly Sergio

It's all about root's. The more vine you bury the more root structure there is to push energy towards that giant fruit.

bury them it also helps vines to stay in the soil and not uproot in the wind

i bury them once they are well anchored unbury them to get airflow and keep them dry , roots will be well established in a month or so

A few of my mentors have advised to bury all the secondaries and leave the main (it will attach anyways) uncovered so you may follow the main vine health. That is what I do anyways!!

I like to bury all vines. Don't burry any nodes on the main until the secondaries have started to run from it. Also don't burry any nodes on the main that may produce a female flower you may wish to pollinate. I would start burrying after you have 4 to 5 feet. Then towards the end of June quit burring the main untill the end of pollination. Don't forget to cut the roots loose under the vine around your pumpkin.
