Jordan My patch got hit hard on July 1st 2004 with large hail. The plants were totally shredded and the average plant at that time was about 12 feet. By July 20th I had pumpkins set and ended up with a personnal best that year. Plants are very resilient. It is what we do to them as growers that is usually far worse than mother nature. Hang in there in 2 weeks you will never know the hail came.

So it seems that it indeed can rain like hail just about anywhere.

Yea, We just got told to move our cars to covered parking and the cells heading right over my house. Darn, I cant leave for a nother half hour.......oH well who knows. I did have hail take all the leaves off my pepper 2 years ago only to have the best pepper year afterwards......making me think Ill need to shoot'em with a shot gun to take the state record.....

My patch got hit by hail 3 times one year. At one point, there was nothing but green mush on the ground, and skeletons of old leaves. However, the plants still bounced back!
Good Luck

Still counting holes from baseball size (yes, truly baseball size hail) here last Thursday evening. I found head of cabbage in the veggie garden that was crushed. I plan on letting everything grow, as I believe that Mother (Nature) knows best. Peace, Wayne
