Not Pumpkin related but a good deal more important to many people. Sue me.
I don't normally patronize this or any other website for things of this nature but I think for this it's OK.
Keith Crosby is a guy I trained as a Scout Leader. He was so enthused that he has since also become a trainer.
Recently he found out that I have MS. Look what he decided to do:

I wouldn't normally try to take advantage of a weakness in myself or anyone else. It seems cheap. But many people can benefit from this. MS afflicts people in the prime of their lives without warning.
If folks can help it would mean a lot to us. Keith is making a selfless effort to help people he doesn't even know. The world needs more people like him. Hence we try to make great men from good boys together.
Thanks,
Steve

My Heart Felt Thanks to Sue McGuire, Eddy Zaychkowsky & Brent Richey.
You guys are the BEST!
There is something really special about Scouters & Pumpkin Growers. Who else would do & give so much for absolutely NO PERSONAL GAIN?
I can't ride the 50 mile course any more. But my son Stephen & I are going to ride the 2 miler. Maybe I can ride along side to Keith next year. I'm outfitting a Trek 8000 for road touring now so maybe I will if I can get the bike dialed for my stupid legs.
I only wish Keith had his site up before yesterday!

I have to get some work done now...more updates tonight.
Thank you all so much.

Wow...Folks I with names we don't recognize are donating now. Some are Keith's family, coworkers & friends. Others are Scouters. But there are also some names that neither of us know. It might also be possible that some are remaining anonymous so if I miss someone I apologize.
It looks like Keith might actually hit the goal the MS Society had set for him of $3000!
Stan, I'm sorry the current medications weren't available 20 years ago. I could end up ambulatory but for now the drugs are helping.
I'll keep thanking the folks that I know are from BP here.
Thank You Owen Olsen, Joe Pukos & Mike James. Compared to other "young adult" diseases, MS research is WAY UNDERFUNDED. Your contribtuions are sorely needed. God Bless you all.

Yes, MS is a terrible disease! My daughter's school's Vice principle is a survivor (as he refers to it...).. There's so many devastating, deforming & debilitating diseases that can strike down those of us in our prime.... MS, RA, Myofibrigia, etc...... Anytime you can support/participate for a fund raiser to support research in those areas- please do!!!

Last call! Rich Colon, James Robinette, Roger Reinsvold, Craig Fitzgerald, Brian Fawcett, & Blase Biga. Thank you & God Bless you all!
Keith raised $3760.00 for MS research with the help of family, friends & other great people he may never even meet. One check ($500) won't show up on the rolling online tally but will be in the final figures all the same.
He started out this morning at 9:00 AM, had a flat at mile 15, changed it then called me on the cell. Bad shifted the chain off around mile 20 - got dirty. Rolled into the 50 mile finish at 1:10 PM. Collected a medal of appreciation from Miss Connecticut & then ate cheeseburgers from the grill.
Of the riders on the BKM team, Keith did raise the most money. I know that we are both forever indebted to all of the generous people who gave what they could. Thank you ALL!
