Is it just me or do some gorwers diaries look like they fudge on the size of their plants. Looking at a picture of a plant with 6 or 7 leaves and having the grower say it has a 12' main is hard to beleave. I realize pictures can be deceiving but it's time to bring out the tape measure.

Russ, if you want to see for yourself, come on by. Don't bring along any small animals or children though because they might be eaten by the plants.

Remember the saying "The B.S. stops when the tail gate drops". But untill then, anything goes. Don't get too caught up in the flash and dazzle of diaries, they are not always a good reference point. I don't think you will be over dazzled with any diaries coming out of the Northeast this year, but remember it is a marathon not a sprint. Still a long way to go. John

Eight, to ten inches a day, is common growth, on all, of the vines about this time, of year. We planted the seedlings in a cold frame April 25 -26. The spring has been warm, with the plant going five six feet in the first fifteen days. We are reaching for thirty days soon and the start of pollination at about fifteen feet. This more or less is where the plants should be growing in the Northeast.
