Double planted site. One's got to go. Plant A main is five ft out, sightly bigger leaves. Main & secondaries developing normally. Plant B is 4 ft. out, slightly less developed, but thicker vine and longer tendrils. Main & secondaries developing normally.
Both plants look strong, both have good genes but unproven 2005 stock. I don't want to make the cut based on the hierarchy so I won't mention the seeds. Just wondering anyone's thoughts on whether, all other things being equal, you'd keep plant A (faster grower) or plant B(thicker vine). The ax swings tonight...

HI FRANK: I think you should cut them both, that way I will be able to beat you at St. John's. lol. I take it that you are not going with the 1370. I like the looks of the 866 for color if I had to choose.

could you grow them both in a flag pattern pinching off all secondaries on the inside of each plant?

I have 2 in a double planted site like yours. Both my plants seem to be a mirror of yours at this time. My plan right now is to keep them both and train the vines away from each other in a V pattern, maybe trimming secondaries on the insides as abbynormal mentioned. The stumps are approximately 2 1/2 feet apart. I posed the question earlier on here about growing 2 from the same site and got mixed opinions but the majority said it could work....if not I'll do it different next year (probably will anyway)!

Thanks all. Given the space concerns it really had to be one or the other, not both. Tough call, but in the end I kept Plant A. It was developing tap roots and Plant B was not yet. So I'm banking on better root development on A...
