Subject: Short main vine

Just wondering if anyone was able to grow a biggie once the main vine broke off? Last night we had 80 mile an hour winds. So, today found the main vine broke off 8 feet from the stump. There is a female plant just behind the break but have read that 8 feet out may be too close to set one.

There have been 1000+ at 8' or less, also on side vines, and on retrained secondary for a new main, Sorry to here about the main, its happend to me before to one plant last year 3x ugh! But a beautiful pumpkin was acheived.
