Have my first 'bonnified' Flatviner... I've been trying to snake the main with it's 'natural curve'.. A very interesting plant...
Would like to know from Iosue if the 265 mother vine was a flat viner as well??
And what advice can the rest of you give me in this situation?

Im not super experianced with flat vines either. I had two plants go this way, this spring. The first gre out if it on its own. My understanding is that they will do this sometimes. The other one I let go for several days, finally last night, I decided to tear halh the growing point off. Tonight the main seems to have grown about 3 inches and dosn't apear to be double anymore. Time will tell. I have heard of folks terminating the main and training a secondary. I figured that was my back-up plan when I tore out part of the growing point!

I had 2 plants flatvine. I tried dripping water on the stump, which has worked in the past, no luck. So I cut off the flatvine and trained a secondary as the main. On one plant that worked, it is growing fine. The other had one secondary grow normally and the other flatvined so I cut it off. The plant is way behind and is in danger of being yanked out if it doesn't show signs of improvement soon. Sherry
