Does anyone know what type of glue to use to join sheets of plastic that I'm using to solarize my patch, or can I use packing tape to join the edges?

maybe i did not give it enough time, but when i bought a roll of Gorilla Tape and just like the other duct tape i had prevously and the double-sided carpet tape i bought to "patch-up" my floating row cover fabric, i found that the stuff does not want to stick to NEWWWWWWW polyethylene(?) plastic.....BUT, it does and did seem to want to stick to OLDER plastic sheeting, which i still had-up on a house window....just to try it. i suppose there may be a thin film on there from the manufacturing process that prevents anything from sticking to it, but maybe after the tape is stuck to it for awhile it starts to "take". let's all try this Gorilla Glue stuff, lol---eric g
