for two days my 3 best growing plants all severly wilting. i thought it was because of some hot days, so i misted and they did not recover. they were slightly better in early am but wilted as the day went on. I thought maybe they got too much water, i dont get it? so today i scratched the surface of the dirt around the plant. i could not believe that what i was smelling. the best way i could describe it was to say it smelled like ammonia?? could this be cat urine and if not what or who???

did you put fresh manure in the patch recently? or put a bunch of it without mixing in native soil? that is all i can think of, but there are many far wiser than I on this site

Ammonia will lower your pH (If memory serves me right)... Add some Lime to counter balance/neutralize.. That's what is done in barns/stalls...

And get some pet repellant product.. Or put a sandbox nearby!
A little cat pee/Dog pee is OK - a LOT isn't good..

my ph reading is around 6.8. this morning some leaves that were wilting recovered a bit, small leaves at mains tip are not wilting. there seems to be a strange matallic look to the wilted leaves like oil or something. i have not spilled anything like that on them nor has any been near the plants. i had used neptunes seeweed prior to wilting and had started using sevin because some it appeared something was attempting to eat at the leaves,, not bad though. does any of this give anyone any more clues or ideas?

im not sure about how to explain drainage. do you mean to ask if i have good or poor drainage? i think it seems ok i guess.

im sort of amazed that the plants have not just kicked the bucket. i thought they were all but gone. the has been minimal improvement on the three plants but as luck would have it, now a fourth plant appears to be starting to wilt??
