To the many growers on the East coast who attend the Topsfield Fair. Our good friend Sue Hackney (Wayne's wife)
has become very ill. She has been in charge of entry registration and official entry statistician for the weigh off for 15 plus years...
She has been admitted to the Dartmouth Hitchcock Hospital in Lebanan NH and could use some emotional up lifting.
The NHGPGA will be sending her flowers but a few get well cards would be great for her spirits.
Barbra and Hugh Wiberg have asked me to pass this message on to everyone.

the membership of southern new england giant pumpkin growers send there warmest wishes for a happy and healthy recovery.

personally i have known wayne and sue hackney for many years.
ron and i called upon wayne for numerous advise in the early ninties. wayne was our mentor and a person to be respected thats for sure.

but, it was sue hackney that always answered the phone.sue was as polite as the day is long. never getting short with anyone because of the frequest calls, or forgetting to give a message to wayne.

sue also is as jim b stated a fixture at the negpga topsfield fair weigh off.

a speedy recovery. our prayers and thoughts are with these two wonderful people.

Sue. We spoke on the Telephone back in the mid 1990's and had a good old chat as Wayne was not home at the time of my call and i was unable to call when he was due to return. I hope you have a very speedy recovery and get back to answering that Telephone LOL.
