how long does it take for a pumpkin to grow until it is open and ready for pollination?

From the time you can first see it in the tip of vine ,Aprox 10 days, But if you havent been looking close or often and its simi formed- maybe like 5-8 days !

Wind/Heat/Drought/Flood/Ferts/Plagues..., all can effect the time it takes for the whorl to un-furl to pollination. Just be prepared the night before if you want to secure crosses.
