On the June 21, 2006 show (which I caught today) they were talking herbicides....
This show is VERY into Roundup - but both show hosts/PhDs pointed out that Roundup is no longer effective on MANY broadleafs & woody weeds.. They discussed several commercial broadleaf herbicides with residual control.. In both corn and Soybean crops..
The 'weed-of-the-week' was volunteer trees.. Besides the use of a ten-year residual total vegetation herbicide or tillage.. The ONLY product they recommended was the 'dreaded broadleaf herbicide' that I won't bother naming. They recommended it's use for perimeter control - right next to most row crops..
They also discussed application timing and different types of Fungicides.
How many of you whatch this show for quality info as well?

Interesting...actually the Amine form of the "herbicide that I won't bother naming" might be safely used. Perhaps using a wick or roller applicator...so long as the Ester forms aren't used, volatility is impossible.
Roundup resistant weeds can sometimes be eradicated with Roundup with a high-grade organosilicone surfactant like Silwet L77 or Hawkeye.

Pretty or not, if she pulls weeds all day she must be worth it.

Big Dave - pullin' weeds is fine on a small scale (1 acre or less) .. But come and pull weeds on 2 acres or more!!! With only 3 fingers working on each hand! LOL
Our 'money hungry' teenaged boy - STILL can't be talked into weeding, unless it's with a weed eater ***grin** And since he's 'weed eated' several of my young evergreen trees - I'm sure as hell not letting him NEAR the patches!!
