Subject: slowed growth

the plant i have has three fruit set . when fruit first starts to grow say from baseball size to basketball size.growth is very rapid.it seems to slow way down when fruit reaches basketball size .is this normal?

lets take three numbers for day 10-20-and 30...20 inches, 60 inches, 100 inches circumference respectively. from ping pong ball to 20 inches in ten days ...quite noticeable..from 20 to 60 in the next ten days is 40 inches in girth approx 4 inches a day..now add two more pumpkins you have set and add that 40 inches over all three and it could be why your growth doesn't look right. All three would be putting on about 1and a half inches a day. As they get larger although putting on a lot of weight the cirumference growth isn't as noticeable. Trying to push three at once is a little bit tougher unless the plant is a good size. Hope this helps. Pick the fastest grower and cull the other two.
