While examining my 603 Muller a short while ago I realized that it's a flat vine; it looks like its made up of two separate vines, each sending out leaves at regular intervals. It doesn't seem to be showing signs of wanting to separate into a double vine. On top of this, the main is split open right at the stump. Despite all this, this plant has the longest, fastest-growing main vine out of my three plants. So, what I'm wondering is whether, given that one of my two main patch plants will be trained as a snake, I should still keep this as a main plant... and if I do, how I should deal with these problems.... Thanks in advance for any advice!

That is a double not a flat vine...very easy to fix. A flat vine looks like a ribbon cable off a computer. Pick a vine you want and cut the other keep up with it and you should be fine. Cover the stump split, or just leave it alone that happens alot.

Sorry, I should have been clearer... What I meant is that the these "two" vines are in fact fused together and have yet to turn into a double vine.
