I have a picture of the leaves on one vine. Would someone please look at the picture and tell me what they think may be wrong here? Thanks. http://www.bigpumpkins.com/Diary/DiaryViewOne.asp?eid=52240

R U spraying anything on the leaves? Looks like burning to me very similar to mine http://www.bigpumpkins.com/Diary/DiaryViewOne.asp?eid=49900
My problem was using an older sprayer that once sprayed herbacides from her X 10 years later believe it or not

No foliar spray of any herbacide or pesticide yet. Only one spray of fish and kelp so far. Everytime I want to spray it seems to be raining.

My slugs are out and about. They have nothing good in mind, for our pumpkin growing needs.

That is some type of beetle feeding for sure. You can see where they get tired of chewing the veins & focus on the softer leaf tissue.
I hope that Glenn is right & that it is only a Scarab Beetle. But Joe might be correct too & that would be more dangerous since Cucumber beetles can vector bacterial wilt.
Just looking at the damage can't really tell us who is making it. You coukld use a sticky trap or take a day off from work to find out who the culprit is. It doesn't really matter though.
Either way, a shot of a contact insecticide is in order. Sevin would work but Lambda-cyhalothrin or Bifenthrin won't kill as many beneficials.

If it's Jap Beetles - I've hit them with almost every insecticide - and ONLY wasp killer sprays actually KILLED them..
If you think it may be them - invest in a cheap Jap beetle trap. If they are there - you'll catch a ton of them in 24 hours!!
And Jap beetles can completely clean off the branches of a medium-sized tree! So don't discount them because they're not Cuk Beeetles!
