I know it's the wrong time of the year to be asking this! But anywho, in the garden plots where I'm living for my internship... I have two plants. They're planted about a foot apart from each other. We planned on culling down to one plant because we only had room for one. Well, more space became available, and now we have room to grow both. So the question is... how close is TOO close? They just laid down in the past few days, so they're getting too big to transplant and it's too late to wait for them to reestablish after transplant shock if I moved one of the plants. I'd like to keep two plants but if they'll compete too much, it might be better to just cull the smaller plant. Decisions decisions!

Ya know Brig, I say screw it and grow 'em both! Just make sure to feed the growing mound extra well and see what happens. There will be those that say a foot is too close, but I look at it this way...sure there will be SOME root competition, but if there is enough food for both plants, maybe it will be OK. Who knows, you may start a new trend for "space challenged" growers.

Why not train the vines 90 degrees away from each other and...sorta flag pattern then at the start...cut off secondaries on the inside part of the 90 degrees for the first couple...then terminate the next couple of secondaries when they meet, secondaries will be able to grow longer and longer as the two plants diverge??? I grew two plants spaced about 2 feet apart, in about a 20 x 24 area and got an 884 and 865.5 off them, so you could give it a try.
