I have found four dead females...all of which were found dead on top of a leaf. Do they have a natural enemy?
For what it's worth, I rotate with Talstar and Warrior T. They are much too quick for my sprayer, not to mention, I haven't seen one while spraying.

your not spraying the bugs. your spraying the leaves and stems, etc. if the boarer takes a bite shes a goner. which explains why they were found dead on a leaf.

Two other opinions....... ...those are contact pesticides- if the borer lands on the leaf it will die. (I do not believe they eat in the adult stage) ...maybe they mated, laid eggs all over the place and then passed on naturally. (hee-heee-didn't think you were gonna get away THAT easy did you? ! )

Whether they feed & how much they feed as always intriqued me. I suspect the adults do feed a little. Most other clear wing moths do. The question is "what do they eat?"

Lousy edu's all copy one another regardless of credits. True enough most clear winged moth (borer adults) don't eat or eat very little during their short adulthood. But I can't find anything that indicates how long SVB adluts live or what they eat during that time.
I hate not knowing so I'll be making some calls on Monday.
