What do you call it when you breed/pollenate your pumpkins? "Diddle" is the term known to my family and friends. Where's Dad? out Diddling. Did you Diddle this morning, yes dear, three times.

As I Diddled this morning I was wondering what the rest of the Pumpkin growers called it.

So, heres what we have learned about how to deal with females. Sweet talk and alcohol works. Apparently so does dropping your pants according to some guys (eh ehm...alberta!!)
And, that there is always to option to "hand/self pollinate". Especially for those married for awhile (i qualify, i feel). This could lead to some behavior that neighbors feel is "inappropriate". Jeez, i hope this wasn't a serious question cauze this went South really fast.

i love this site. lol. too funny. i can't tell you how many times that i have told people that i had to pollinate the pumpkins in the morning and the look on their faces is priceless. i call it "doin' the deed" and then explain the process. the replies that usally follow cannot be mentioned here, but it always leads to vulgarity and the enevitable, "do you light up a smoke when you are done?" and i usually respond yes cuz it is true.

Yesterday with company on the deck/pool our talk went to the pumpkin plants. My Wife informed our friends that I spend too much time diddling the pumpkins. Now everyone demanded an explanation. So we all went to the patch for show and tell, several then diddle and it was fun for all. I'm still not sure whether it was for the pumpkins or the people.
