Subject: stem split

We have two pumpkins going on our 1420 LaRue. One pollinated on the 2nd of July and one on the 6th. Both are growing equally as well. The July 2nd pumpkin has a split on the stem that doesn't reach the pumpkin. Should we keep the second with no split on the stem or go for the first? You can check out the split on our diary page. We are creekside. Thanks for the help!

so far it looks ok. I'd keep the best based on fruit and position to the vine.
