Had a really bad storm come through last night with 50-60 mph winds that lasted for better than 10 minute. There is not much left of 3 of my 4 plants. My 1150 Daletas was up next to the fence has some damage but will be ok. What do I do about the stems that were bent over. Should I leave them alone, or cut them off?

The other three look like they have been trampled. I'll have to see how they look this afternoon.

Bruce I've been sending you e-mails are you getting them?

Kenny, That was a bad storm! Did you get the hail this morning? My 1032 McMullen was all bent over due to the storm and I just re-positioned the vines so the leaves were standing up and the vine was not twisted. Not a loss like Don said. If you have time, bury those vines so they will stay in place next time. Bent leaves still may be productive if the stems aren't broken... even when they are broken they can still produce energy. Keep moving forward, don't give up and you will grow a big one!

Up to a few days ago I had the best and healthiest plants to date. I stopped killing them with kindness and only feed them once a week. We had some bad weather here as well. I was not able to cover my plants before the hail started. The lightning was hitting all over the area and it was not so safe to go outside. Luckily the winds did not affect the patch which is pretty well protected. The next morning after the storm I noticed plenty of holes in all my nice bright green leaves. Bummer, but not the end.

After surveying the damage things in the patch are bad,but not near as bad as

We are with out power have been sense 6 pm on Wednesday, the power company is saying it will be another 3 to 5 days.
To make things fun day time highs are 100°. Have a lot of branch's down in the yard. Thank God, we are all ok,and the house didn't get hit by any fallen trees. There are at least 12 home in our subdivision that trees have fallen through.

In the patch/garden a good size branch took out all the tomato plants. The 1150 Daletas was next to the fence and unhurt, the 1314 Beauchemin was damaged but will most likely be ok. The 682 Edwards is heavily damaged it has 1 side vines with leaves still standing everything else is laying flat on the ground with no signs of life. The 1248 Ford is a total loss the 3/4 of the vine have been pulled up out of the dirt. I guess I'm going to cut it back to the main and see what it will do.

We'll have to see what happens. My 5 year old took it pretty bad, I could only imagine how upset she would have been if her Dad would have been successful pollinating.
