Subject: Kohlrabi or Cabbage?

Hey County Kid, I was looking at your grower diary and photo entry #44 July 6-06 you say are Kohlrabi plants. They look like cabbages to me. Am I loosing it or what? Later Scott.

Scott These are giant Kohlrabi! I guess they do look a little bit like cabbage. I assure you thay now have softball sized kohlrabi forming....lol. I also have a couple of giant cabbage going. Having a real challange with weeds...Garden is way to big total area ia about 70 X 180 ft. I will post new pics soon. John

Cool!! That's allot of garden to weed. I only have about half as much and it's a chore to keep it clean. Your stuff looks good!! Keep it up and good luck. Later Scott.

What seeds do you plant to get kohlrabi's the size you do scott?

I grew some of Brett Hester's Kohlrabi seeds a few years back, think the biggest was 28#! The best "eatin" kohlrabi is around tennis ball size, after that they get woody. Once you try them, you'll grow them again!
