The huge stump on my 698 Beauchemin splitted a bit and i can see right trough it! What should i do? Paste the splits so they are closed again? Putting a structure above the stump so no water can enter in the splits? Applie fungicide and insectiside inside the stump? Can use some help here i lost my biggest pumpkin last year due to a rotted stump.

Assuming it is a perpendicular split then I would do nothing. Keep it dry & if needed, trim the leaves a little to improve air circulation. The tubes should keep working & the edges will dry up & close some on their own.
