I have often wondered about what other pumpkin-related nicknames other growers are called. Growing giant pumpkins is so unusual to many people that when they find out, they start calling you by nicknames related to your giant pumpkin growing.

For example: As a general term, people call me "the pumpkinguy". One girl tried using "pumpkinboy", but I shot down that one pretty quick! Uggh. My barbers also call me "The Pumpkin King", after they saw me bring my 804 and 664 in the back of our long-box blue truck. He is continually amazed by how "they took up they entire box!".

What are some of the other nicknames that you get called? (Only the appropriate ones, please! lol)

Several nicnames about town. To some of the kids at the school I'm "the Pumpkin man" since we grow there.

For the majority I'm Mr. Jepsen the Cubmaster.

You ought to work at a prison and here the things I hear from guys, mostly co-workers, like, how you get that thing so big?, is there a hole init that you,,,,,,, to make it bigger? and stuff like'' you spend more time with your pumpkins then you do your wife, you gotta be doing something to them pumpkins~~ all kind of dumb crap like that, but mostly everyday someone has a comment about my pumpkin growing,LOL.Mostly they will yell across the yard''hey pumpkin King!!"" Its kinda slowed down a little since I got my buddy from work growing them his name is John"(He reads the boards but dont post,lol!!). But one day John and I was in the chow hall in front of a bunch of other co-workers and he said to me,"" You ever have dreams about your pumpkins?"" I said, yea sometimes. He then says,"" I couldnt get back to sleep last night or the night before because I kept dreaming I was rolling over ontop of my pumpkins stem"". Ha! The guys hit the floor laughing, then they all looked at me, and then looked at John and said. ""hes alot worse off then you Brooks, John needs help"",LMAO!!!

I gotta say though, John has the fever bad, DONT YA JOHN? ha!!!

I am called a "punkaphile", because I told them I had to force the female open and it tore a little bit...I was looking for 3 good males..... ...Im new at this hand pollination so when I told them I had to rub the pollen on the female and the pollen was too moist (being in the frigerator) has them now calling me a "punkaphile". Im not too sure this is a good thing!!! lol
