I have been noticeing an alarming number of pics of leaves that seem to be infected with bacterial wilt, (at least that is what it looks like to me). I did some extensive reading on the subject through the US ag extension sheets etc. and they all seem to say that it is a systemic infection and the plants are doomed. I have been pulling off leaves as soon as I see any signs of this and burning them and trying to keep up with the sulphur. Are we doomed here? Tremor?? Help? Otherwise the plant looks healthy and still vigourous growth. PS..tomatoes, gourds etc all have this problem. sucks

My plants had it last year and they were doomed. I tried to keep up with the watering to try and keep the leaves from drooping and could not. Eventually the plants went down hard. There is no cure for it that I have found.

If it is Bacterial Wilt then the plants are indeed doomed. We had it at the school 2 years ago (Cucumber Beetle brought it to us) & the plants were finished in 2 weeks.

Diligent insect control is the key to control.

Pull one of the wilted vines apart. Try not to rip it. Look carefully at the vascular tubes. Do you see any stringy sloppy hairs inside?

need a fresh tissue sample done...a lot of conditions have similar symptoms...don't waste two years thinkin ya got it right...I did that! not fun!...If it is bacterial wilt probably one of the worst problems to have...one bite and the disease is spread..even if the bug dies he already did the damage.Good Luck!

It can't be that,,,if it was my plants would be in bad shape by now..but after snipping off the leaves and burning them i havent seen any other signs of this problem...Thanks so much for the help.
