Hers a link to the GVGO web site, Ailts/Laundry tables:
http://www.gvgo.ca/downloads/ailts_landry_benchmarks_2006.xls

If you don't have excell, min measurements to reach 1000 are:
Day 10 24.9"
Day 20 68.1"
Day 30 108.3"
Day 40 134.3"

Tried to find one for OTT that should be more reliable but can't find it. Does anyone have the link to the similar OTT tables?

Just remember these are averages. Some pumpkins with a lot higher averages have not made it over 700 lbs at the end. Some pumpkins with lower averages (up to day 30 at least) have made it. The Ailts tables show maximum and minimum measurements of pumpkins that made it to 1000 lbs as well to prove this. Of course it cannot accomodate for the length of the growing stage of the pumpkin.

It would also be handy to have an OTT bench mark chart as Petman stated and one that went to day 60.

I have a great excel spread sheet that tracks the growth using ott, with graphs and all, someone put a LOT of time into making. I dont remember who made it. I added to it, you could originally track 3 pumpkins, I can track 12 now. If anyone wants a copy of it shoot me an email. It does not have a "1000 lb tracker" though

Alexsdad - Pop ups blocked? Worked for me. I will email to you.

Here are the est OTT from Don's 953 in his book. Not a 1,000 pounder but close. Don has weights only so I am guessing on the OTT but prolly pretty close.

Day 30 326 lbs OTT 250"
Day 35 466 lbs OTT 283"
Day 40 607 lbs OTT 309"
Day 45 709 lbs OTT 326"
Day 50 802 lbs OTT 340"
Day 55 866 lbs OTT 349"
Day 60 907 lbs OTT 354"

Thanks alot, as I could not find my chart recently so now I can just reprint. Now if there was only an OTT benchmark to compare my/your pumpkin to a "typical" 1,000 pounder.

Am I the only one who feels these "benchmarks" are just something to pass the time pondering about til October???

Yes and no. For us newbies, it at least gives us an idea of where others have gone before so we can compare. Without anything to compare against we are flying blind.

They are also the things dreams are made of. If I can keep pace, or heaven forbid surpass, the benchmarks of a 1,000 pounder for even a short time, just maybe..... It is fun to ponder the possibilities.

my son and i have made our own charts from 20-30-40-50-60-70-80-90 day pumpkins from the best and biggest in the world.
we also added several of our own productive pumpkins grown over the last several years.
its interesting to note that comparing ott measurements from 20 days on one will notice that its not always the 190 to 200 inch ott 20 day pumpkin that makes it big time
( some do of course ) but, its also interesting to note that several including our own 1250 and 1340 had much slower starts.
moral of the story ? a fast start is nothing more than that.
you will know by mid august if you have a contender or a pretender.
if your soil is right, disease is held at bay, and lady luck looks your way? anything is possible.
