Please check out my diary to see what I am talking about. I cut the roots under my main vine, and my fruit which is at 42", is more stem down and blossom end up. Will this cause me problems?

You can slowly start blocking your vine with small chunks of 2 x 4's, blocks, plastic pop bottles, styrofoam, any thing that will raise the vine and support it. Do this slowly and continue to add as the pumpkin grows. Don't force it. It won't hurt as long as your vine is limber, you may need to cut more tap roots from any secondaries near the main vine and further up the main if needed. Hope this helps. Sherry

Herbie, I noticed in your diary that you were planning on adding fertilizer. We have noticed over the years that when we add fert they get a growth spurt and many times split or blow up so use it sparingly if you really need it.

I foliar feed once a week. Yes they respond to fertilizer right away. I will keep watching it.
My secondary pumpkin that I chopped the vine on at three feet past the fruit, how bad will that hurt it?
Thanks.
