My 1420 went down today. Blossom end split. It was at 152+100+95 yesteday and today it was at 156+102+97(355) est 938. Another big gain killed me. We have been having a very hot year here. So far thats 4 splits and 1 rotten vine. All I have left are a couple slow growers. I will be lucky if I have anything to take to a weigh-off this year. I know how Mike Frantz feels. I have pictures of the split in my diary(might not be posted yet-I just submitted them) Kevin Marsh

That fruit looks very mean. Hopefully you weigh it anyway

It would be good to have the finished weight if you were able to get the remains on a scale quickly.

Sorry for the loss.

Is the 1420 a notorious splitter? I know of several 1420's from last year and this year that have had a blossom end split. I lost my 1420x1420 this week too to blossom end split. Or is this because I just happen to be paying attention to the 1420?

Dang Kevin, tha really sucks, I feel your pain...believe me. I just wish I could've got one set on the main on my 1420 this year. It aborted everything up until about last week. It's now growing jack o lanterns for the front yard ths year on tertiary vines....and they're growing better than anything did one the main....go figure!
