wasn't there a modified way to measure these things? Got 1 again this year and its hard to get measurements that seem right?? Seems i remember someone saying there was a better way to measure?? Thanks.

measure the circumference only....its easy, gives you an idea of the growth rate and since wheels really don't follow the ott chart anyway why kill yourself?

my pumpkin that split was wheel (last yr ) it ended up at 730 ott & weighted 760lbs

I had 1 last year the i estimated at 589 lb by OTT, but went 709 on scale. It was wheel shape and layied flat almost on its stem. Same thing this year with 1 of mine. If you think of it as a "tire" and measure the CC around the outside instead of blossem-stem, that adds about 100 lb to the weight. So is that correct??
