I think you're o.k. with Banner after fruit set...
(but I'm sure Steve will chime in with a more measured and scientific response...) :)

Read the Banner label, in it's entire form. I believe you will find it may cause earlier growth retardations or earlier finishes as one, of their statements.

If this is a true fact the question remains. Will the fruit have enough time, to do it's best growing, both internally and externally? I do not know the answers. I assume based on stated facts it may prevent full development, of the fruit, even if the plant appears, to remain healthy. I choose, to not use it more, on the unknowns, than the known or stated facts.

I am certain that I devasted my patch of nine plants with BannerMax. I will say that I haven't had anything looked at by a professional but sometimes you just have to go with your gut and forego the expert opinion.

I sprayed BMax on my plants when they were young, before fruit set. Each plant is stunted, has pencil sized vines, short, small leaves and the kicker is the fruit. Every fruit that has taken has visible growth lines much like the rings of a tree. Once they reach approx 50 pounds, they develop a flat spot, almost looks like the fruit is going to cave in on itself. These fruit have a bananna shape to them while others are pear shaped. The shapes and characteristics are very odd, not to mention, all of the fruit are small when compared to their age. This patch looks more like a Big Max or "field" pumpkin patch.

I used 1.5 mil per gallon on the one and ONLY application. I don't think that rate was terribly harsh however, it may have been too early in the growth stage to lay it down.

If it wasn't the BannerMax, then I have 16,000 sq feet of dirt that needs major help.

For what it's worth, the preplant soil sample numbers were extremely good with only minor amendments necessary this year. Water has not been an issue as I lay it down and lay it down often.

One more thing....the Indian Corn, Broom Corn, Yucca, Sun Flowers and watermelons that I'm growing right next to these 9 plants are performing marvelously. Right you are....I didn't spray BannerMax on them......

Doc, how 'bout a Two Fer deal...I will send mine to you. You can give mine to whomever takes yours! Heck, I might even throw in a nice silver coin just to make sure someone takes mine.

This late in the year & Banner is fine. Any time after fruit set is OK. Daconil + Eagle or Heritage should have gotten us this far, so a switch now to Banner is a good rotation.

Wex, Ill take it, send it my way, lol. Im glad I never used mine untill after fruit set though , If it wasnt for this site and I caught a post about it I might be in the same shoes you are in.
So far though,Ive sprayed Banner twice this year, my last time spraying was about 2 weeks ago and I drenched my vines with it in fear of getting what I think was fusarium from my other plant (Only thing I had at the time that says on the label it will slow down root rot and diffrent kinds of fusarium ), but Im still gaining 33 lbs a day on one pumpkin and 27lbs on another so it didnt hurt me after fruit set looks like, but maybe it did who knows? they might be gaining 40 lbs a day if I didnt use it. Never know I guess.

Brooks My Brotha, you may have pissed away 1,100 pounds, sorry to hear that! Didn't you catch the part about full development!!!!! I also sprayed my stump and vines and most all are showing "scars"...kinda like a scab every 4 or 5 inches.

33 and 27 pounds huh?! Awesome. Guess that new dirt ain't so bad after all. NukeMax, huh.. I mean Banner Max is yours. I respectfully request two seeds from your '06 PB in return.....please......

Great idea Brooks...never thought of that! Maybe I should pour the BMax into one of my empty Agro K jugs...say the VC or VCP one?!

last yr (AFTER) i used banner max i got gains of 35 a 24 hr period for days, then a 46 lb & crack ,, maybe i should have trippled the recomended rate & other pumpkins did the same !!This yr i havent used it yet & am growing seeds like 1068 but growth is about half of last yrs !! i wish there was more one side or other because it worked supper great to keep powdery mildew off for a long time with only 1 spray
