I have joined several clubs, mostly from the East coast and Canada. There is great information and useful information. Would be great if I could get info a little more locally. Is there a club in Northern California or even Southern California I can join? Patch tours? Thanks

Petman, you're more than welcome to join the Pacific Giant Vegetable Growers. We're headquartered out of Oregon. Our patch tour is this Saturday in southern Oregon. Check us out at pgvg.org

The growers that show at the Elk Grove Harvest and Pumpkin Festival have an informal organization. We meet in the spring for a lunch, raffle and seed exchange. It is arranged by the Elk Grove Park and Recreation District.

It would be lots of fun to get a N. California patch tour going. Anyone have the time to organize one?

My patch is currently nothing to write home about, but if we can get enough Northern California or even just California members, maybe we can get something started...at least an informal group/mailing list/something. Lets see what response we get here and from CA members and go from there. Eric

Then we can all focus on breeding heat resistant pumpkins... something that will pollinate in a frying pan, or my backyard.
