I broke the vine almost completely off right after the pumpkin. In fact some of the break is on the stem of the pumpkin. It is 1" long and 1/4" wide. Is there something that I can use to patch up the stem?

Root,,if it broke off near the stem of the fruit, you can use some sulfur to heal it..I'd apply twice a day and keep the wound as dry as you can..It should heal in a few days..Your fruit should keep growing.. J

What type of sulpher and where do I purchase it? Gary is right, it is still growing. But I am so far behind everyone that I don't know if it is worth it only for the sake of growing one and to learn more.

I'm actually having BETTER luck with the 'kins growing on vines that I terminated soon after the fruit set. The stems are stronger - and the vines are able to roll with the 'kin as it grows...
May have my largest one to date soon - and I terminated that vine 4" after the 'kin...
I'd cut it off CLEAN - and treat it with S.
