When does a pumpkin usually start growing the fastest after the pollination is set? 20 days? 30 days? How long does it usually last? When does growth taper off ? Thanks!

normaly between 20, and 40 days some have peaked after 40 days go figure? make it last as long as you can, but if your approaching 30+ pounds, and climbing might want to back of a bit, and let it taper when it starts to decline, hit it again, then you will see a slow decline in size if you keep the plant, and pumpkin healthy normal, there are exceptions to the rule, oh !, and more ferts wont stop the decline after 50 or 60 days go steady, and long growth

If you are talking inches CC it is usually day 20 to day 30 at an average clip of 4.02" for 1,000Lbs fruit. Some growers have reported gains of 5, 6, 7 and even 8" during the peak CC period. The upper range of 7 & 8" seams to be the split limit. 4, 5 & 6" gains are very common and safer against blossom end splits.
Most of 1k pounders peak day 35 to day 45 at around 35Lbs/day.

Thanks for this info. When the pumpkin hits the growth spurt, does fruit size matter as to how big the spurt is ? I mean, if the pumpkin is in the 80-200lb range before the growth spurt kicks in compared to a pumpkin in the 300lb range, would the bigger pumpkin grow faster than the smaller one? Or, is this a matter of water/sun/fertility/buffer pumpkins?
Doc: I am now using k-sulfate to foliar... my soil lab said to apply during bulking. Is that good advise?

I am getting 6-8" a day, Im thinking this is slow growth as the excel chart says a 10lb growth. Are you talking 6" W? which would be around 18" total on the chart> Please Advise
