I just found I have a couple baby pumpkins finally set on my 621 again. They are about cantaloupe/honeydew melon size. How big do you suppose they may grow before the end of the growing season? Anything sizeable? Whatever size they get, if it gets colder, will they just ripen at whatever size they get, or is it just a waste to let them grow at all??

People are reporting hundreds of pounds by day 30. Not sure of your area but that would be a pretty good size Jack-O Lantern.

I had one pollinated around August 11 last year that made it to about 330 lbs by the middle of October. That was on a 100 sq. ft. plant.

this is good news for me too since i am way late on these things. Anything i have pollinated up to last week has aborted up to football size. (Mostly my fault i think) I now have 3 little ones on and one more to open tomorrow. This year, all i care about is a couple of pumpkins my 3,3 and 5 year old have trouble lifting. Next year i will try to apply what i have learned from this year.
Tif, At least you have a 200+lber! Not to shabby!

Mine are late also. What could we add to help the pumpkins grow a little more than 3 or 4 lbs in a day? Sometimes even less!

The problem with late pumpkins is, you are loosing precious daylength, day time temperatures above 85, and night time temperatures that stay above 55.So you are going to get slower gains. This is why we have the goal of fruit on by the 4th of july.
