I noticed my big pumpkins are still are on the soft side. I do have some cantoloping on some of them though. My weigh off is 9 days out. Should I uncover them so they get some sun to toughen them up and give them some color in the next few days? Or should I just keep them covered so they can grow some more. I can live without their full potential color since my main goals were size and cross seeds this year. I'm just worried they might be more susceptible to damage and I might lose their seeds if they don't get some sun and get tougher skins.
