During a recent spraying session I discovered volunteer pumpkins on two plants. The main fruit on these plants are in the 550 lb range and gaining about 8 lbs per day at day 45. Should I cull these secondary fruit or is it safe enough to leave them? Will they have much of an effect on the main vine fruit?

I think you'll hear from everyone, CULL ASAP.. Various reasons but you want your biggun to reap all the energy your plant has to offer. If the "Volunteers" are small you could take them off Immediately, If bigger and drawing energy cut them over 2-3 days.. Also eliminate all flowers and tertiaries gradually to Pump Up your Pumpkin......

Depends on your goal. High aspirations call for culling & pruning ALL extraneous growth from flowers to fruit to tertiary vines & tendrils.
