In prepartion and researching for next year, What type of protection (hail) do you all use? Is there one product that is found to be better than others. I have a frame over my patch so I could use a hail cloth or such that will still allow sun through. Let me know of your thoughts please. Thanks

What about 1/4" fencing. Galvanized and lasts for along time.

I bought three 10' x 10' EZ-Up sun tents for camping & other Scouting events this spring. We also have a 10' x 20' tent. While we rarely see hail here, but I've always felt they could be easily assembled next to the patch, then lifted up & placed over the plants for protectection if needed.
Walmart had a First-Up knock off on sale for $88 this spring. Might be a solid investment for growers in the hail-belt.

Hey Thanks, 400SF.. I hope to see your patch on the weighoff and check it out. Colorado is a challenge to grow in, but if we help each other out... I know we can grow'em bigger every year and who knows maybe get us a world record with some ingenuity. My to do list for next year is to provide a retractable hail shield using the cloth at the website you listed. Im sure hoping our weather holds for another 5 weeks....its up to mother now Grow em BIG
